How I Got Canada PR in 6 Months from Delhi — My Real Journey with Axnode Immigration

I never thought I’d be writing this post. A year ago, I was sitting in my flat in Lajpat Nagar, scrolling through Medium article at midnight, reading story after story of people who had spent years — sometimes over a decade — trying to get Canadian Permanent Residency. Some succeeded. Many didn’t. And nearly all of them had one thing in common: the process was overwhelming, confusing, and full of costly mistakes.

Today, exactly six months after I submitted my Express Entry profile, I’m writing this from my new apartment in Brampton, Ontario — as a Canadian Permanent Resident.

This is not a sponsored post. This is not a fairy tale. This is my real, unfiltered journey — the stress, the paperwork, the waiting, and ultimately, the moment the IRCC portal showed ‘PR Approved.’ And a big part of why it worked — and worked fast — was Axnode Immigration.

Who Am I and Why Canada?

My name is Arjun (I’ve changed my name for privacy, but everything else is real). I’m 31 years old, a software engineer with 7 years of experience working for a mid-sized IT company in Noida. I hold a B.Tech from Delhi Technological University, and I have an IELTS score of 8.0.

Canada had been on my mind since 2019. The reasons were personal and professional: better work-life balance, career growth in tech, quality education for my future children, and — honestly — a cleaner environment and safer streets. Delhi’s air quality alone was enough motivation some days.

I had looked into it before but kept postponing because I didn’t know where to start. The Canadian immigration system has so many streams — Express Entry, PNP, Study Permit, LMIA, Atlantic Immigration Program — it felt like learning a new language.

The Mistake I Almost Made: Going Alone

In early 2024, I decided I’d DIY the whole thing. I watched hours of YouTube videos, joined Facebook groups, downloaded the IRCC handbook. I even created my own Express Entry profile.

Then I made a mistake that could have been catastrophic: I misclassified my NOC code. I had listed myself under a generic IT support role when my actual experience clearly qualified me for a higher-skilled NOC category. This would have significantly lowered my CRS score and potentially made me ineligible for the draws I was targeting.

A colleague caught this just in time and said, ‘Bhai, please talk to a proper consultant before you submit anything.’ That’s when I found Axnode Immigration.

Finding Axnode Immigration: First Impressions

I found Axnode through a recommendation in an NRI forum online. A few people had mentioned them in the context of Delhi-based consultants who actually know what they’re doing — not the ones with flashy offices who just take your money and disappear.

I booked a free consultation call. What struck me immediately was how direct and honest the counsellor was. She didn’t promise me PR in 3 months. She didn’t tell me I had a ‘guaranteed’ chance. Instead, she walked me through my profile realistically — my strengths (strong IELTS, solid NOC, clean record), the areas to improve (getting a provincial nomination to boost my CRS), and a clear 6-month timeline with milestones.

That honesty was what sold me.

Month 1–2: Profile Building and Strategy

Once I signed up with Axnode, the real work began. Here’s what they helped me do in the first two months:

• Corrected my NOC classification — This alone boosted my CRS score by nearly 40 points.

• Gathered and verified all documents — Employment letters, reference letters, pay stubs, educational certificates with ECA (Educational Credential Assessment), police clearance certificate, and medical reports. They gave me a precise checklist and timeline for each.

• Decided on the right pathway — Based on my profile, they recommended combining Express Entry (Federal Skilled Worker) with a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) through Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream. This was a strategic recommendation I never would have identified on my own.

• Built my Express Entry profile from scratch — Every field, every detail, reviewed and double-checked by their team before submission.

Month 3: The ITA and the Scramble

In the third month, we got a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario. Within days, I received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from IRCC. This is the moment most people celebrate — and then panic. Because from the ITA, you have exactly 60 days to submit a complete application.

This is where Axnode truly earned their fees. They had already prepared me for this. My documents were 90% ready. Their team helped me compile the formal application package — over 200 pages of supporting documents — reviewed every single form, and submitted the application on Day 47 of the 60-day window.

Three weeks later: an Additional Document Request (ADR) from IRCC asking for more proof of employment. My consultant had told me this might happen and had kept backup documents ready. We responded within 4 days.

Month 4–5: The Wait (And How to Survive It)

These were the hardest months — not because anything was going wrong, but because nothing was happening visibly. The IRCC portal just sat there, saying ‘In Progress.’

Axnode’s team was incredibly supportive during this phase. They did regular status checks, kept me informed of processing time trends, and told me not to panic when nothing moved for 6 weeks. They also helped me prepare for what came next: COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence), landing procedures, and initial settlement planning.

During this time, I also used their settlement guidance sessions to start researching neighborhoods, banking options, SIN numbers, and health cards. By the time approval came, I wasn’t starting from zero.

Month 6: The Email That Changed Everything

It was a Tuesday afternoon. I was in a meeting at work when my phone buzzed. A notification from the IRCC portal. I excused myself, opened the app, and saw those two words:

“Decision Made”

I called my Axnode consultant before I called my mother. She laughed and said, ‘We knew it would come. Check your email.’ My PR approval letter was already there.

Six months. From profile creation to PR approval. In six months.

What Axnode Did Differently: An Honest Review

I’ve spoken to many people who used other consultants and had very different experiences. Here’s what set Axnode apart, from my perspective:

• No false promises: They told me what was realistic. No ‘guaranteed PR’ talk. Just data, timelines, and probabilities.

• Personalised strategy: They didn’t give me a generic template. They studied my profile and designed a pathway specific to my NOC, years of experience, and target province.

• Responsive communication: Every email was answered within 24 hours. Every WhatsApp message, usually within a few hours. They never made me feel like a ticket number.

• Document precision: They reviewed everything multiple times. My application had zero errors when submitted. That matters enormously — a single inconsistency can trigger delays or refusals.

• Post-approval support: Even after the approval, they helped me with COPR, landing logistics, and the paperwork for activating PR status when I landed in Canada.

My Tips for Anyone Starting This Journey from Delhi

• Don’t DIY blindly. You can do research, but have a licensed RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant) review your profile before you submit anything.

• Get your IELTS score as high as possible. Every point helps your CRS. I scored 8.0; if I had scored 7.5, my story might have looked very different.

• Understand your NOC code deeply. Your occupation classification is the backbone of your application. A mistake here can cost you dearly.

• Start collecting documents early — especially ECA, police clearances, and reference letters from employers. These take time.

• Be patient during the wait period. Going silent on the IRCC portal does not mean something is wrong. Trust the process.

• Choose your immigration consultant carefully. Ask for RCIC credentials, check Google reviews, speak to past clients if possible, and trust your gut in that first consultation call.

Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?

Canada PR changed my life. Not because Canada is perfect — it isn’t. The winters are brutal, rent in the GTA is absurd, and yes, I miss my maa’s rajma chawal every single week. But I also have a job where I leave at 5pm and actually leave. I breathe clean air. I have a health card. I have a future here that feels stable and full of possibility.

And I got here in 6 months — not 6 years — because I had the right people helping me navigate the right path.

If you’re sitting in Delhi right now, dreaming about this same life, I want you to know: it’s possible. It’s real. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.
